Les Artistes de la Table is a unique concept that brings together 10 to 16 participants for a customized culinary experience in the modern kitchen of a beautiful neo-classical house located in Québec City's Old Port. Les Artistes de la Table offers "on demand" custom cooking classes to the public. Gather together with a group of friends to learn or improve on cooking techniques and enjoy a culinary experience.

Under the supervision of Louise Martineau, international culinary expert, participants cook up a menu of their choosing. It is an unforgatable experience where techniques and chef's secrets are revealed.

In a friendly, fun-filled setting, dishes are prepared hands on, then the plates are garnished and the results savored as a five-star meal. The resident sommelier recommends wines to complement the menu.

A little bit of history…

Les Artistes de la Table opened its doors in December 2003 in a beautiful Neo-Classical building which originally was built for the Quebec City Office of the Molson Bank in 1850. After the Molson Bank closed, the building was used for many years by the Canadian Postal Service followed more recently by art galleries.

During 2002, Louise and Donald Martineau undertook the complete restoration of this building, following original documents found at the archives of Quebec City. They were able to bring back the old charm of this building.

We hope that our clients feel at home. They are our guests!

The result is Les Artistes de la Table, a state-of-the-art cooking school, with the most up to date equipment in order to provide the participants with a memorable experience and to provide the visitors to Quebec City with some knowledge of our typical and delicious unique products and cuisine. The classes are given in French or, if preferred, in English since Louise's professional food career took place in the United States.
